hi,
all im useing is a pin type emersion tank timer that i had left from my old heating system the one that can give different on and off times depending where you insert the silver pins in either the inner or outer ring , seems to work fine and a lot cheaper than £30.00. just wire it in between a 2way extension and the mains supply.
cheers john

All halide lighting should be put on a contactor if you intend to use a timer, most timers are rated well above the needed watts that we use for lighting but when a halide fires and shuts down the amps are a problem to most timers,it is dangerous to run halides without a contactor...To get a contactor go to fastlight,it will be the best 30 to 40 you will spend on your system.
