We all know how much of a problem they can become,could this be a cure?.

I nearly built one of these some time ago. very simple to construct.
Why do left-over nuts never match left-over bolts?

Yes I made a crude one, 9v battery, switch, wooden kebab skewer, and aluminium wire. Simples

Did it work in getting rid of them Dave?.

I nearly built one of these some time ago. very simple to construct.

If you do decide to make one Tony it would be great to test it for a few days to see if the idea works long term,often many cures for Aipts just end up turning a few large Aipts into an army of small ones lol.

Yes it did, although I only used it on some that were on rock in a holding tank, but they never came back.
I've not used it in the display as the copperband gets them all, I might make one with a 12v transformer and try it on some I have in the sump
